BANGALORE, April 19, 2007 - SUPERVALU INC. (NYSE: SVU), the third largest retail grocery company in the United States, reiterated its commitment to the local community of Bangalore by making a financial contribution to Ashraya Child Adoption Agency. The Rs. 300,000 donation will support the medical needs of children awaiting adoption at the agency.

This donation is the collective result of personal contributions made by SUPERVALU associates who ive and work in the United States.
